Regular Savings Plan

1.Regular Savings Plan

1.1 Regular Savings Plan

A Regular Savings Plan (RSP) allows you to invest a fixed amount, such as HK$1,000, in a selected fund at regular intervals, such as on the first day of each month.
Similar to an installment savings plan, an RSP allows you to build up your investments over time, average out your investment costs, and reduce overall investment risk.
1.2 Redemption
During the fund's normal dealing period, you may continue to purchase or redeem the fund at any time, even if it is included in an RSP.

2. Set up an RSP

2.1 Account

You can currently buy through an investment account with EleBank.

2.2 Investment frequency

You can choose from four frequencies: monthly, every two weeks, weekly, and every trading day.

2.3 Failed RSP investment

A scheduled RSP investment will fail if there are insufficient funds in the payment account.

2.4 Retry a failed investment

You can retry a failed purchase from the RSP details page. The retry option is not available for short-term wealth management products or cancelled RSPs.
Tip: If purchases under an RSP frequently fail, you can tap Manage in the upper-right corner to change the payment account for the RSP.

2.5 Invest immediately when you set up an RSP

When setting up an RSP, you can choose whether to make an investment immediately:
Set up the RSP only: No investment will be made immediately. Your first investment will be made according to the selected schedule.
Set up the RSP and invest immediately: An investment will be initiated when the RSP is set up. Subsequent investments will be made according to the selected schedule.

3. RSP payments

3.1 Payment date

The payment date is generally the date selected when the RSP is created. If the scheduled date falls on a non-trading day, the payment will be deferred until the next trading day.

3.2 Impact of a failed payment

If an RSP payment from a cash investment account or a margin investment account fails, no funds will be lost. However, the RSP will be cancelled automatically after too many failed payments.

4. Modify an RSP

4.1 Details that can be modified

You can change the amount, the frequency, and the payment account.

4.2 Number of modifications

There is no limit to the number of times an RSP can be modified.
Note: An RSP cannot be modified during the lock period on a scheduled payment date. You can modify it once the payment result becomes available.

5. Pause or resume an RSP

5.1 Pause an RSP

An active RSP can be paused at any time, provided that it is not within a lock period.

5.2 Resume an RSP

A paused RSP can be resumed at any time.

6. Cancel an RSP

6.1 Can I resume a cancelled RSP?

A cancelled RSP cannot be resumed. However, you can create a new RSP for the same fund. A single fund may have multiple RSPs.
